Former New York Lt. Gov. Betsy McCaughey sought to excuse Donald Trump‘s “grab ’em by the pussy” comment by normalizing it. After all what could be more normal in our world than talking like Beyonce? That’s what McCaughey implied Trump was doing, nothing more or worse than what Beyonce does in her hit song “Formation”. The lyrics in question are pretty indiscreet, of course. Beyonce sings:
When he f*%k me good I take his ass to Red Lobster, cause I slay
When he f*%k me good I take his ass to Red Lobster, cause I slay
If he hit it right, I might take him on a flight on my chopper, cause I slay”
The language isn’t family friendly, but it might be noted that Beyonce doesn’t mention sexually assaulting anybody — just buying them dinner. Talking on CNN McCaughey told Don Lemon that Hillary Clinton likes rap, which is “full of the f-word, the p-word, the b-word, the a-word.” Clinton admires Beyonce, considers her a role model, says McCaughey, calling Clinton a hypocrite. Beyonce fans shut down the comparison fast and hard, with some stamping McCaughey’s social media accounts with bee emojis, the unofficial signature of BeyHive members. The fan stings have since been removed. Beyonce has publicly supported Hillary Clinton for president.
