Serena Williams just surpassed Roger Federer for the most Grand Slam singles victories in tennis history. It’s getting so they may have to rename the record book after her, especially if she completes her drive toward the 2016 US Open Championship. That would push Williams past Steffi Graf, of course, for most Grand Slam wins all time, with 23. When you’re this good and you set this many records, people want to know all the details — how does she train, what does she eat, how much does she sleep, and where?
The answer to the last question is that when she’s in New York for the Open, Serena stays at the Lotte New York Palace hotel in midtown Manhattan. It’s fitting, after all, that the reigning queen of tennis should stay in a palace, right? We mention it because they will probably put a plaque in the suite Williams is staying in — something about this being the place she rested as she became the greatest champion in the history of the sport.
