When Jeff Teague ran the show in Atlanta in 2015, FOUR Hawks made the All-Star team. That’s about all you need to know when considering Paul George‘s fantasy value this year, as Teague — playing in a contract year in his hometown — brings his all-around game to Indianapolis. Or know that in January 2015 all five starters on that Hawks team were named together as NBA Player of the Month.
Preseason lists say Paul George is ranked just No. 9 on the 2016-17 NBA Fantasy Big Board. He’s behind Durant and Curry, who’ll have to learn to share the shots. Behind Kawhi Leonard, who won’t have Tim Duncan. He’s behind Karl-Anthony Towns, too. We’ll see. George will be playing his first full season after coming back last year from a bad leg break. Pacers president Larry Bird has staked the Pacers’ success on George becoming for Indy what LeBron James is for Cleveland. That’s why Teague is there. Thaddeus Young and Al Jefferson too. Myles Turner, too, looks to add both big and speed to the Pacers mix. Paul George is in a position to blow up.
