On the Bar Rescue episode ‘How to Train Your Goldfish,’ Jon Taffer visits Y Not Sports Pub & Grub in Everett, Washington. It’s a great location – right across the street from Xfinity Arena, an entertainment venue that holds 10,000 people and lights up 200 days of the year. But the grub of the pub is subpar. When Taffer shows up with chefs Phil Wills and Sean Olnowich, Wills calls the burger “a hockey puck” and “definitely the worst burger I’ve ever had in my f—king life.” The pulled pork nachos, according to Wills “tastes like it’s been cooked months ago.” Taffer goes berserk but later helps the owners rebrand the place The Forbidden Pub. With the new Asian decor comes a new menu including Korean barbecue bao balls and coconut rice balls.
However, acccording to MyEverettNews.com, co-owner Yvette Otto says: “I tried to embrace the Forbidden name but there was zero positive feedback.” She explains: “I tried to defend it for two months. Customers were confused and many even thought we changed ownership.” She posed under a banner which announces that The Forbidden Pub will go back to its Ynot name. Bar Rescue airs Sundays at 10pm on Spike.
