A South Carolina woman named Cheryl Rigdon invented a 6-inch long spatula to scoop out the last bits of expensive makeup and lotion from bottles. She pitched her product, The Spatty on Shark Tank in 2012. During her pitch, she also introduced her 12-inch companion spatula tool, Spatty Daddy. The name of the product made all of the potential investors break out in laughter.

While Rigdon didn’t get a deal on the show, Daymond John told Rigdon he would help her by providing contacts in the beauty industry and to find a licensing deal. According to Rigdon, John has kept that promise. She said: “Daymond is still helping me with advice. He has people on his team showing the product to make-up companies. He’s also giving me advice. I got so many emails from people offering all kinds of things, there’s a lot of interest in the Spatty. I don’t know who these people are, so I have to be skeptical. Daymond said he’d review offers and give me his advice. He’s being so generous out of his own heart, but I don’t want to overdo it.”
