Rex Ryan moves into season 2 as the Buffalo Bills head coach. If there’s any pressure on Ryan, he famously makes sure he puts it on himself. And Ryan looks buoyant talking about what’s coming. He was “really impressed” with what he saw defensively in the Bills preseason 19-18 loss against the Colts. The Bills gave up “something like 1.3 per rush” and the running backs averaged “under a yard.” Fourth-year safety Duke Williams really impressed Ryan.
Here’s Ryan on Williams: “Duke had a really impressive game. Physical. You know, that’s the Duke Williams that I’ve been wanting. Right down from his attitude to everything else he’s a different guy this year. He’s bought… he’s all in and I think that’s the best thing whether he’s running with the ones, twos or threes. It doesn’t matter. He’s doing as good as he can. You see a little bounce in his step. The physical talent that he has is impressive.”
