Roadies is the new comedy/drama by Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous), who knows a thing or two about roadies, the people who make concerts happen, behind the stage. In the Roadies episode “What Would Phil Do?”, tour manager of The Staton-House Band, Bill (Luke Wilson), is in hot water after “an array of crises.” In other words, the band puts on a stinker of a show. Bill can’t help but ask “What would Phil (the most famous road manager in the business) do?”

Phil is portrayed by standup comedian Ron White who was part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour with Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy in the early 2000s. As an actor he’s known for his roles in a variety of films including the comedies Horrible Bosses (Detective Samson) and Demoted (Earl Frank), and the 2012 drama Jayne Mansfield’s Car with Robert Duvall and Kevin Bacon (directed and written by Billy Bob Thornton), and Sex and the City 2 (Tom). Roadies airs Sundays at 10pm on Showtime.
