NBC is dedicating its prime-time programming on June 16 to the story of Charles Manson and his family. At 8pm, Dateline NBC will show rare footage from the NBC archives including interview with Charles Manson. The Datelin episode precedes the two-hour commercial-free season premiere of Aquarius, which is about a detective trying to track down Manson before the infamous Helter Skelter murders. In the Season 2 premiere, Manson and his family move in with Dennis Wilson of The Beach Boys.
During their time together, prior to the infamous murders, Charles Manson wrote the song “Cease To Exist” which The Beach Boys rewrote as “Never Learn Not To Love. ” Dennis Wilson sang the song on The Mike Douglas Show (see video below). “Never Learn Not To Love” was the B-side song of The Beach Boys’ 1968 single “Bluebirds over the Mountain” and was added to their 1969 album 20/20. Aquarius airs Thursdays at 9pm on NBC.
