Kyrie Irving goes behind his back and behind it again, making like Uncle Drew in a Pepsi commercial. But this time it’s reality TV — the Eastern Conference Finals — not a setup for an ad shoot. But the results are the same — and it sure looks like a setup at times. The Cavaliers, after all the talk about whose team it is (Love, Lue, Blatt, James, Irving?) are 10-0 in the postseason and just crushing everybody.
Irving, after missing the Finals last year along with Love, is in killer mode. Prisoners? The Cavs will take none. Irving is pure aggression as the playoff Cavs look like the Varsity taking on a series of JV teams — JV teams that were just caught flirting with the Varsity girlfriends. It’s not friendly competition. But it’s all fraternity on the Cleveland side, the strife put aside in service of victory. Irving says to “all to be healthy at the same time and doing whatever it takes to win. This is what we want to be a part of, and what we’ve been waiting for. We missed out on our chance last year and I think we’re relishing the moment and we just want to continue that going forward.”
