It’s a good thing Doctor Strange is on the planet’s side, because that black magic is nasty business. Benedict Cumberbatch is used to casting a spell and now the job gets quite literal for the handsome Brit, whose marvelous Marvel sorcerer looks like just what the comics doctor ordered.
Audiences may be so over Superman and Batman — and hungry for saltier fare like Deadpool — but Cumberbatch’s magic will settle in between the two extremes, it seems, with aplomb. And Doctor Strange looks gorgeous, just like the people in it. Besides, everybody who’s been paying attention knows that if there’s wisdom in this world it’s Tilda Swinton wields it. She’s the Ancient One here, a beautiful universe where we get to play doctor with Rachel McAdams, too. Coming in November.
