In the premiere episode of The Family, we meet the Warrens. Matriarch Claire Warren (Joan Allen) is the Republican mayor of Red Pines, Maine who is running for governor. During her campaign, Claire’s son Adam (Liam James) who was presumed dead after disappearing more than 10 years ago, reappears. Adam’s return opens a huge can of worms, particularly for Claire’s daughter Willa, who was watching Adam when he disappeared.
Claire’s daughter Willa Warren is portrayed by Alison Pill. The Canadian-born actress is best known for her roles on The Newsroom (Maggie Jordan), and in the films Midnight in Paris (Zelda Fitzgerald), Goon (Eva), Milk (Anne Kronenberg), and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (Kim Pine). Fun fact: Pill is married to actor Joshua Leonard (The Blair Witch Project, Bates Motel). The Family airs Sundays at 9pm on ABC.
