Rush Hour is a new TV series based on the buddy cop Rush Hour films starring martial artist Jackie Chan and standup comedian Chris Tucker. (There have been three Rush Hour movies, so far.) In the movies, Chan plays LAPD Detective Lee and Tucker plays Detective Carter. Philip Baker Hall plays their boss, Captain Diel. On the show, Jon Foo plays Lee and Justin Hires plays Carter. Wendie Malick plays Captain Lindsay Cole.
The model-turned-actress Wendie Malick is best known for her TV roles on Hot in Cleveland (Victoria), Frasier (Ronee), Just Shoot Me! (Nina Van Horn), Baywatch (Gayle), and Kate & Allie (Claire), among many others. Rush Hour premieres Thursday, March 31 at 10pm on CBS.
[Fun fact: Both actors in the Captain roles — in Rush Hour the movie and the TV show — appeared memorably on Seinfeld. Hall was the library cop. Malick was Elaine’s friend Wendy, the physical therapist who insisted on kissing Jerry every time she saw him.]
