Three young men from Madison, WI have used the power of crowdsourcing to build their craft beer business, MobCraft Beer. Every month they ask craft beer lovers to submit their flavor ideas – what kind of beer they want – and then MobCraft comes up with recipes to best reflect those ideas. The idea/recipe that gets the most pre-orders gets made. If you live in Madison, Wisconsin, you can pick up a keg or bottles at the MobCraft brewery or at a number of local stores. Otherwise you have to buy online (you’ll need to register first). A 4-pack of 22 oz. bottles goes for $25.

With MobCraft Beer’s proven success in Wisconsin, and with kegs now being tapped also in Illinois and Minnesota, the company wants to expand nationwide. The founders of MobCraft Beer are pitching the business on Shark Tank (March 11), which airs Fridays at 9pm on ABC.
