Tim Taft and Victoria Coopman know animals. After working in the pet industry for decades, the two animal lovers from Cedarpines Park, California launched their own pet toy company in 2012 – Innovation Pet Toys. Innovation is known for its “cause and effect” toys for cats. When a cat swats at one toy affixed to a structure, it causes another toy to move. One of Innovation Pet Toys’ best-selling products is the Kitty Connection Deluxe Twin Tower and Ramp Set.
Taft and Coopman are working on more “automated cat toys”. They will pitch Innovative Pet Toys on Shark Tank (March 11). Their biggest obstacle will be to explain the business clearly – they sell more than toys. Innovation Pet Toys also sells chicken coops, rabbit hutches and dog houses. Shark Tank airs Fridays at 9pm on ABC.
