On the Season 2 finale of Untying the Knot, divorce mediator Vikki Ziegler faces one of her toughest negotiations. She’s up against two lawyers. Tom and Darlene fell in love in law school but after 24 years of marriage – the last 10 years of estrangement – the power couple is officially splitting up. Now they need to figure out how to split up their marital assets including the 20-volume Oxford English Dictionary. Tom says Darlene didn’t even know what it was before the set was given to them by a neighbor. “He gave them to me,” says Darlene. To which Tom says, “because you were home and I was at work.”

Other assets to divvy up include a bronze Buddhist statue, a signed Salvador Dali print, and two Alfred Eisenstaedt black-and-white photographs. (Ziegler has the authenticity of these confirmed by the Boston auction house Millea Brothers — they are indeed reprints and signed by artist.) When given to Tom as a gift, they were worth $2,000 — they might now be worth $15,000. Darlene chastises Tom for being happy about their worth rather than just being happy to have the art. Untying the Knot airs Mondays at 10pm on Bravo.
