Miles Penn is one of the co-founders of MTailor, an app that measures men for custom made shirts by using a smart phone camera. Once it collects your measurements (it takes about 5 minutes to “scan” your body), you can order the color and cut of a shirt tailored just for you. Penn claims the app is 20 percent more accurate than a professional tailor. Miles will pitch MTailor on Shark Tank where, according to the network, he just might make the mistake of coming across as too confident for the likes of the investors.

Penn’s confidence derives in part from a privileged education (Horace Mann, Stanford), being named captain of Stanford University’s Men’s Soccer Team, and the confidence that comes from working at Goldman Sachs as an intern for two summers back-to-back (2011 and 2012). In September 2012, Miles Penn launched MTailor with fellow Stanford grad Rafi Witten who worked at Google. Shark Tank, which airs Fridays at 9pm on ABC, won’t be Penn’s TV debut. He appeared on Mad Money with Jim Cramer in 2014 (see below).
