Actress Linda Blair is best known for her head-spinning role as Regan in the 1973 horror classic The Exorcist. Now at the age of 57, she’s focusing on her new career as a rescue animal advocate. Through her rescue organization in Los Angeles, the Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation, Blair tends to animals in need of shelter, medical attention, and rehabilitation. Many of the animals are pit bulls.
On Oprah: Where Are They Now? Blair tells Oprah that the shelter can have 100 dogs at any given time. “It’s a huge undertaking,” says Blair. “A dog is only as good as the person who is their guardian,” she adds. “We don’t use the word owner in the animal welfare movement.” Oprah: Where Are They Now? airs Saturdays at 10pm on OWN.
