Talking with ESPN’s Rich Eisen, former Dallas Cowboy receiver Michael Irvin expressed a powerful opinion about the game he loves: “I love the game of football and the game of football saves lives.” Irvin, born the 15th of 17 children, used hard work and football to get where he is — and that’s on top. He knows from experience that others can do the same. The “saving lives” business came up because of Johnny Manziel — who else?
Irvin thinks the troubled Heisman Trophy winner about to be released by the Cleveland Brown should become a Cowboy. Irvin thinks Manziel is “still growing up” and deserves more chances. Irvin says he’d work with Manziel and that the young man will “cross over that threshold and become a great football player.”
#ICYMI: @michaelirvin88 thinks he can help Johnny Manziel turn his life around & wants him with #Cowboys. #SB50https://t.co/YkmbgP4Qf2
