Outspoken golf coach Hank Haney is best known for coaching Tiger Woods from 2004 to 2010, and penning a book about the experience called The Big Miss: My Years Coaching Tiger Woods. Haney is accomplished in his field beyond his association with Tiger — but Woods is clearly the gift that keeps on giving. Haney’s SiriusXM radio show, Hank Haney Golf, just got a boost from Howard Stern and company. Haney’s program goes from weekends-only to seven days a week at 10am. And since media coverage of golf still splits about even between tracking young superstars and watching Woods’ demise/twilight, Haney’s former insider status is still a profit center. Haney can still make headlines by saying Tiger Woods’ comeback is an “epic failure.”
Haney has also had success on TV, most memorably trying to help NBA Hall-of-Famer Charles Barkley rid himself of the multitude of mental and physical tics that plague Barkley’s abysmal swing. And by taking on the likes of Rush Limbaugh too — enter “hit if left” jokes here.
