Donald Trump may go only where he thinks it’s safe — and where people adore him. But the GOP candidate and media maestro has to eat, and restaurants — unlike rallies — don’t screen for political leanings. So a reporter who found herself in the same restaurant as Trump went all Julian Assange on the candidate, scandalizing him among foodies by revealing that Trump ordered his steak “well-done.” This is tantamount to heresy among fancy people, who like it rare — medium-rare if they must.

Fancy foodies are who Trump hangs out with in real life — check out his wedding guest list. But they are not who he appeals to in the angry electorate. Well-done steak presumably won’t get him into any trouble with his base. Especially since it’s practically politically correct to go rare. But he definitely lost the Wolfgang Puck vote, as you can see below:
