Brie Bella is scheduled to wrestle Charlotte at Fastlane (Sunday 8pm ET), the Divas Championship at stake. That match was already a newsmaker, but with husband Daniel Bryan‘s retirement the match gains another dimension. Speculation is rife that Brie Bella could follow Bryan out to pasture. It’s a complicated time: Brie just rose in status after beating Charlotte on February 1. But suddenly people are guessing she isn’t long for the WWE world, maybe even if she’s the title holder. (Though Wrestlemania 32 would surely be a big pull on Brie.)
Dave Meltzer at Wrestling Radio Observer thinks there’s no doubt Brie is bolting. In his stirring farewell, Daniel Bryan mentioned starting a family. There’s really little hope of that when, like Brie Bella, you’re getting into the ring with Charlotte twice a month. Is the quick rematch also Brie Bella’s swan song? Only Brie knows for sure.
