On the Season 10 premiere of The Voice, Alisan Porter sings “Blue Bayou” for her Blind Audition and brings the house down. All four judges – Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Pharrell, and Blake Shelton – whirl around and give her standing ovations. The judges are impressed with Alisan’s talent and story. After having a successful career as a child actress (Curly Sue, Parenthood, I Love You To Death) and later recovering from alcoholism (she’s sober 8 years), Alisan is realizing her passion — music.
Alisan might need a mentor to help her win The Voice but she already knows how the business works. She’s released two albums including her 2014 Who We Are. And she co-wrote a song for/with American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert: his 2011 song “Aftermath” on his For Your Entertainment album. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
