On the Criminal Minds episode “The Bond,” an UnSub tortures his victims and leaves them tied-up in truck stop restrooms. Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler) of the BAU says the killer is working off a kill list. When the team focuses on a young man named Randy, they visit the person closest to him — his mother, Flora (Veronica Cartwright), a character that would have fit in nicely at Alfred Hitchcock’s Bates Motel.

Randy is portrayed by Wilson Bethel. The 31-year-old is best known of his roles on Blood & Oil (Finn), The Astronaut Wives Club (Scott Carpenter), Hart of Dixie (Wade Kinsella), and the daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless (Ryder Callahan). Fun fact about Bethel: He is the son of writer Joyce Maynard who wrote the novels To Die For and Labor Day, both of which were turned into movies. To Die For stars Nicole Kidman, Labor Day stars Kate Winslet. Criminal Minds airs Wednesdays at 9pm on CBS.
