In the Madam Secretary episode “The Middle Way,” Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) is surprised when she travels to Myanmar to sign a Pacific Rim trade agreement. She’s met with resistance from the embedded American ambassador there, Arlen Maxwell (David Rasche).
