On The Middle episode “Birds of a Feather,” the Hecks are having a hard time at work and school. While Frankie (Patricia Heaton) struggles at Dr. Goodwin’s (Jack McBrayer) Smile Superstars office, Axl (Charlie McDermott) starts his internship at snack company Little Betty. It’s not what Axl was anticipating. Instead of learning a lot about the business, Axl gets stuck doing menial tasks (feeding a bird, for one) for his ungrateful boss, Jack Kershaw.
