Mackenzie Bourg is the 23-year-old auditioning on the fifteenth and final season of American Idol. He and judge Harry Connick, Jr. share two things in common — their birth date and their home town (Lafayette, Louisiana). Like Connick, too, Bourg sure knows how to play to the audience. He announces that he’s going to perform a medley of songs composed especially for the Idol judges. “There is one song in there for each of you,” Bourg says.
With his acoustic guitar, Mackenzie Bourg starts singing and strumming Stupid Boy by Keith Urban, trails that with Come By Me by Connick, and ties it all together with Jennifer Lopez‘s Love Don’t Cost a Thing. American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8pm on FOX. January 21 will be the last day of the preliminary auditions.
