Mike Dippolito is the young man who found out from the Boynton Beach Police Department that his wife of six months, Dalia Dippolito, had hired a hitman to kill him. The police got a tip from Dalia’s ex-lover that she was plotting to have her new husband killed. She was caught on camera talking to a man who she thought was a hitman — but who was an undercover cop. Then the cops staged a crime scene to make her think that Mike had been murdered. After Dalia was arrested and convicted, Mike Dippolito told ABC News that he did noticed strange things happening after they got married. His money would disappear and “somebody had planted drugs in his car trunk.” He thought he was going crazy. In retrospect, he says, “I think she [Dalia] might have loved me for a week.” ABC 20/20 will air its exclusive interview (December 4, 10pm) with Dalia Dippolito, who had her first conviction overturned. She’s waiting for a new trial, living under house arrest, just miles away from where Mike Dippolito lives in the condo that they once shared.
