On The Big Bang Theory episode “The Opening Night Excitation,” Sheldon (Jim Parsons) is struggling to make sense out of his relationship with Amy. Sheldon’s been holding on to an engagement ring while Amy goes out on dates with Dave. Luckily for Sheldon, the spirit of the his childhood hero, Arthur Jeffries (aka Dr. Proton), appears in Sheldon’s dream to offer advice. Jeffries (portrayed by 86-year-old Bob Newhart) is dressed like Star Wars Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Meanwhile, Leonard, Howard and Raj decide to invite 43-year-old Wil Wheaton to the opening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. To the dismay of all of the Star Wars fans in the movie theater, Wheaton arrives in a Star Trek costume. Wheaton portrayed Ensign Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation. The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8pm on CBS.
