Ben Davis, one of America’s most promising high school football players, will be featured on the ESPNU TV special Under Armour All-America Game Practice Day. The 6’3”, 240-pound inside linebacker at Gordo High School in Alabama has received five offers including one from Alabama, his father’s alma mater. Wayne Davis is still the Crimson Tide’s all-time tackles leader. Daddy Davis played at ‘Bama from 1983 to 1986 and then played two seasons in the NFL for the Cardinals.

Ben Davis would be a natural fit at Alabama, and while the school is high on his list, Davis says his decision “will be based on more than family tradition.” As of December 29, Georgia is his new front-runner. (The other 3 offers came from Auburn, LSU, and Notre Dame.) At practice for the Under Armour All-America Game, Ben Davis said, “I wanted to announce it [which school he is committing to] at this game. But I thought about it and I wanted to make sure the coaches had settled first, so I’m going to wait until signing day.” Davis means when the annual college head coach musical chairs game is over, which it mostly is now. (Former Alabama DC Kirby Smart is the new Georgia head coach.) Thing National Signing Day is February 4. Under Armour All-America Game Practice Day will air December 31 at 8pm on ESPNU. It will repeat often.
