On Valentine’s Day, Stacey Schoeck lured her fifth husband, Richard Schoeck, into Atlanta’s Belton Bridge Park at night. To spice up their love life, Stacey told Richard it would be exciting if they met in the park, at night, in separate cars. When Richard arrived first, a hitman hired by Stacey was there waiting and shot Richard five times. When Stacey arrived and “found” Richard dead, she called 911. Richard was 46.
Stacey Schoeck was charged with murder. At her trial, she admitted in court to hiring the hitman. According to the Gainesville Times, she said she thought Richard was molesting her children. “I was just so fixated in my mind that Richard was doing something wrong that I said, ‘I don’t want the cops, I don’t want a divorce, I want him dead,’” Schoeck said. She later learned Richard Schoeck did not molest her children but it was too late. Stacey Schoeck is serving a life sentence in jail. Dateline NBC will re-air its investigative report on the Schoeck murder case on November 27, 10pm.
