The Spurs and Kings went back and forth most of the game, looking evenly matched. Then there was a bell rung during the 4th quarter that only the Spurs heard — and they responded with a 34-19 quarter that pushed them to a 106-88 win in Sacramento. Kings guard Rajon Rondo (9 points, 12 assists) helped out by handing San Antonio four of his nine turnovers in the 4th quarter. Rondo showed some fatigue, playing all 48 minutes for coach George Karl.
Even the best King was trained in the San Antonio style: ex-Spurs forward (now with the Kings) Marco Belinelli had 17 points against his old squad. The Spurs improved to 5-2. Kawhi Leonard continues to play like one of the best in the league, scoring 24 points on 10-of-13 shooting and bringing customary lock-down defense. The Kings are 1-7.
