Sherri Shepherd, a former TV host on The View, has been ordered by a court to pay $4,100 a month ($49,200 a year) in child support for the son, LJ, she and her ex-husband Lamar Sally had via surrogate. While surrogate Jessica Bartholomew was carrying the baby, in May 2014, Shepherd and Sally separated. Since LJ’s birth, Shepherd has fought to prevent having her name on the birth certificate. The one-year-old boy is being raised by Sally.
Shepherd told People in August that “she went through with the surrogacy despite her marital problems because she feared Sally would break up with her.” Shepard is also mother to 10-year-old Jeffrey from her first marraige with Jeff Tarpley.
