One factor probably not mentioned enough about Jeremy Lin is that Lin is a BIG guard. Lin’s just 6’3″ but he often plays against players his size or smaller when he plays the point guard slot. Against lightning fast reserve Bulls guard Aaron Brooks, Lin was able to use his superior size and strength to mitigate Brooks’ speed advantage (Brooks has a speed advantage over almost everyone). And Lin is equipped to embody either a big, strong point guard or a very swift shooting guard, using his different advantages in each position. He goes into the lane with remarkable balance and power.
Lin was tremendous on both ends of the floor against Chicago. Despite playing just 19 minutes, Lin had 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and a block in a 130-105 Hornets rout. (He should have had a few more assists, too, but for some easy misses by teammates.) It was Charlotte’s first win, after going undefeated in the preseason.
