Jamie Vardy was a very unlikely candidate to set the all time goals in consecutive games record. But by finding the back of the net for Leicester City in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United Vardy has scored in eleven straight matches. (Manchester United’s Ruud van Nistelrooy held the record at ten.)
Three years ago acquiring Vardy cost Leicester just a million bucks — and even that modest spend was considered extravagant by some for a player of Vardy’s supposedly questionable promise. Now the price looks like the serious bargain that it was. Vardy’s like one of those horses somebody bought in a claiming race that go on to win a Triple Crown title. He was named player of the month in October.
Thanks to everyone for all the congratulation messages! Over the moon to have achieved this, but there is still lots of work to be done!!

Refreshingly, Vardy still acts the part of hard-working and lucky man. He’s grateful and “pinching himself” as he writes on Twitter. And like all underdogs Vardy thanks especially those who “never doubted” him. He’s an easy guy to root for.
To every single person that has supported me and never doubted me…Thank you…..I’m still pinching myself! — Jamie Vardy (@vardy7) November 21, 2015
