Sydney Andrews was one of the most memorable characters on the 1990s soap opera Melrose Place. She came on the show via her married, big sister Jane Mancini (Josie Bissett). Sydney made a lot of bad decisions on the show including sleeping with her sister’s ex-husband, Michael Mancini (Thomas Calabro), and becoming a prostitute, among other things.
Laura Leighton, who played Sydney Andrews on Melrose Place (and in real life is still married to Doug Savant who played the only gay character on the show, Matt), is portrayed by Chelsea Hobbs. Hobbs has appeared on several TV shows including Supernatural and CSI but she’s best known for her roles on Make It or Break It (Emily Kmetko), The L Word (Brooke) and the Lifetime TV mini-series Beach Girls (Nell Kilvert) with Rob Lowe and Julia Ormond. The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story premieres on Lifetime on October 10 at 8pm. It will air again on October 11 at 12am.
