On The Flash episode “The Fury of Firestorm,” while Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team try to save the life of Dr. Stein (Victor Garber), Iris West (Candice Patton) and her father Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) reunite with Iris’ mother, Francine. It’s been 20 years since Iris has seen her mother. And she’s not that happy to see her now. “Why now?” she asks Francine. But when Francine tries to explain that “there’s a lot you don’t know,” Iris cuts her mother short. “I don’t hate you, Francine. I do wish you well,” Iris says. “But we’ve lived separate lives for 20 years, let’s keep it that way.” Ouch.
