Riding on the coattails of The Unauthorized Beverly Hills, 90210 Story comes The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story on Lifetime. Both provide behind-the-scenes look at what shaped the teenage and twentysomething soap operas of the 1990s. The producer of both shows, the late Aaron Spelling, is portrayed in both TV movies by Dan Castellaneta of The Simpsons. And just like in “real life,” actress Heather Locklear (Dynasty, TJ Hooker) steals the show.

Locklear was hired to “save” the show and she did with aplomb as Amanda Woodward, the ladder-climbing, backstabbing advertising executive who knew how to wear a mini business suit like no one’s business. On The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story, Locklear is portrayed by Ciara Hanna. She’s best known for her roles as Gia Moran/Yellow Megaforce Ranger on the TV series Power Rangers Megaforce and as Summer on the daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story premieres on Lifetime on October 10 at 8pm. It will air again on October 11 at 12am.
