On Empire, while Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) is building her new empire without ex-husband Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard), she needs all the help she can get to promote her new artists. So she meets with a concert promoter named Laz Delgado. And of course, he’s fine. During their interview in Cookie’s office, Delgado says: “I’ve been promoting concerts for a lot of years, Cookie. I’m not afraid of getting my hands dirty.” If you think Cookie interprets that as a sexual innuendo, you know your Cookie!
[Where Is Vernon Turner On ‘Empire’?]
Laz Delgado is portrayed by Adam Rodriguez. He’s best known for his roles in the Magic Mike movies (Tito), and on the TV shows CSI: Miami (Eric Delko) and Ugly Betty (Bobby Talercio). He’s currently starring in The Night Shift (Dr. Joey Chavez). Fun facts about Rodriguez: before becoming an actor, he was a stock broker, and he appears in Jennifer Lopez’s 2009 video “If You Had My Love” (see below). Empire airs Wednesdays at 9pm on Fox.
