Dad-trepreneur Brian Kleinschmidt goes on Shark Tank to pitch his potty-training product, EZ PeeZ. It’s a prototype of an adjustable toilet lid so kids can sit on any sized toilet designed for adults. The tagline is: “Flip Your Lid.” When Mr. Wonderful Kevin O’Leary voices his opinion — the product doesn’t solve a problem — Kleinschmidt makes a dig at O’Leary about asking his mother for $10k to start his first entrepreneurial endeavor. Mark Cuban turns to O’Leary, “You asked your mom?!” Barbara Corcoran chimes in, “And she gave it to you?!”
[Bad idea? Maybe not. There’s competition like PottyEZ at Amazon]
But as usual, Mr.Wonderful gets the last laugh, “Yeah, but it wasn’t for a toilet seat.” All the sharks chuckle. O’Leary continues: “If she looked at this, she would say I’m not going to give you any money because it’s a bad idea.” He tells Kleinschmidt, “Brian, let’s close the lid on this.” Think the dad-trepreneur will take O’Leary’s advice and ditch the idea? Shark Tank airs Fridays at 9pm on ABC.
