Six-time Grammy Award winning recording artist Amy Grant has been nicknamed “The Queen of Christian Pop.” She was able to successfully crossover from Christian music to pop in the 1980s. Her duet with Chicago’s Peter Cetera, “The Next Time I Fall,” scored her first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 song. She followed that up with the album Heart in Motion, which became her best-selling album to date. It includes her second No. 1 pop single “Baby Baby.” But that was the 1990s. You don’t hear the name Amy Grant too often these days in mainstream pop. That’s why she’s one of the celebrities on Oprah’s Where Are They Now? show.
Amy Grant is still making music but it’s mostly Christian. Her latest album, Be Still and Know…Hymns & Faith was released in April. And when she’s not singing hymns, she’s promoting her latest project, All Creatures Big and Small. It’s an animated film about Noahs’ Ark. She’s the voice of Hazel. Roman Catholic actor Martin Sheen is the voice of the list-holding lion. All Creatures Big and Small is available now on GooglePlay ($9.99 to buy, $3.99 to rent). Grant will appear on Oprah’s Where Are They Now on October 10 at 10pm on OWN.
