In the Season 5 premiere of Scandal, publicist Olivia Pope and President Fitzgerald Grant are “blissful about their reunion” but it’s not all wine and roses. The Queen of Caldonia is in town and she wants to hire Olivia. There’s been a tragedy in the royal family, and the Queen wants Olivia to guard the family’s privacy. Not a small task.

The Queen is portrayed by Dearbhla Molloy. The Irish-born actress is best known for her stage roles. She was nominated for a Tony in 1992 for Dancing at Lughnasa (Best Actress). On the telly, she currently appears in the UK’s longest-running soap opera, Coronation Street (as Helen Connor). The show started in 1960, when Molloy was just 14-years-old and living with her six siblings in Dublin! Scandal airs Thursdays at 9pm on ABC.
