World #1 Rory McIlroy is chasing 2015 PGA Champion Jason Day at the BMW Championship. McIlroy is majorless this year, but his overall record vaulted him above two-time 2015 major winner Jordan Spieth to the #1 spot. McIlroy sat out some of the year with an injury, but came back for Day’s win at the PGA last month. He’s putting on a good show in the BMW chase on Friday.
After hitting a massive drive at the par-4 7th hole, McIlroy pitched from 45-yards. Three bounces later his ball dunked in the cup. That’s the way to make up some ground on the leader. McIlroy is -5 on the day and stands currently at -8 and tie for 6th, with Day -13 at the top.
