There was always an exciting, palpable tension between Howard Stern and former Spice Girl Mel B in the judges chairs on America’s Got Talent. Is it that Howard looks way more like Scary Spice than Mel some nights? Whatever the tension, the judges pushed past it. Or did they? While the other judges have done packages together, clowning around in wax museums and the like, Stern has preferred a solo comedy spot. In his visit to a classroom to prove to kids he is the best/favorite judge, he was asked by a kid if Mel B “smells nice.” Stern replied that he’d tell the truth, “she does at the beginning of the show…”

But a Mel B appearance on the Today saw her bid a fond farewell to fellow judge Stern, who’s leaving his judging behind to focus on a billion dollar radio deal. She’ll miss Howard, Mel B says. She’s “sad” he’s leaving, even if he was “moody and grumpy.” Think Stern will miss Mel B? At least at the beginning of the show.
