Susan Peterson is the designer behind Freshly Picked, a line of adorable baby moccasin shoes. She says she got her seed money by convincing her brother, who owns a window repair business, to give her all of his discarded aluminum frames. She sold the frames for $200 which she used to buy enough leather to make her first 40 pairs of moccasins.

Five years later and Peterson gets a deal on Shark Tank with fashion guru Daymond John ($150k for 25 percent). Freshly Picked got the celebrity seal of approval when the Kardashians started to slip them on the feet of their children, as seen on Kim and Kourtney Take New York, Kim and Kourtney Take Miami, and Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, to name just a few. Each pair costs between $45 to $60. They’re also available at Nordstrom (see above).
