Paige Birgfeld was a young, attractive, twice-divorced mother of three children living in a nice home in a nice part of Grand Junction, Colorado when she disappeared in 2007. When the police found her car lit on fire a couple of days after she went missing, they knew foul play was involved.
During the police investigation they discovered that Paige Birgfeld led a secret life. She secretly worked as an escort and made $400,000 a year doing it. The police found documentaton on her computer about arranging clandestine meetings in remote places. Seven years after Birgfeld’s death, one of her clients, Lester Jones, was arrested and charged with murder, kidnapping and arson. Jones will face trial in 2016. 48 Hours will air a special on Paige Birgfeld on September 5 at 9pm.
