The indie film Cop Car is being compared to the Coen brothers’ Blood Simple and No Country for Old Men. It’s a dark tale about two 10-year-old boys who find an abandoned police car in a field outside of Fountain, Colorado. They’re chased by a crooked cop (a moustache-wearing Kevin Bacon) who left something in the trunk.
Cop Car is directed by the 34-year-old filmmaker Jon Watts who is now working on the script for the Spider-Man reboot which will premiere in 2017. Watts is a native of Fountain, Colorado. He recently told The Denver Post he remembers having to ask his mother for permission to watch Tremors, the 1990 film that starred a 32-year-old Kevin Bacon.
