Pia Zadora won both a Golden Globe and the Golden Raspberry “Worst Actress” award in 1982 for her role as Kady in the film Butterfly. She played a nymphet who seduces her own father (Stacy Keach). There were accusations that Zadora’s Golden Globe was “bought” by Pia’s much older millionaire husband, who financed the film and flew members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association to Vegas to watch Zadora sing. But the Golden Globe remains in Zadora’s possession.

Pia Zadora didn’t let the accusations get to her. In fact, they might have helped her career. She focused on her music thereafter. She even got to open for Frank Sinatra on tour. Zadora says every night before she went on, Sinatra pulled her aside, held her hands and uttered three words: don’t screw up. She said she learned a lot from Ol’ Blue Eyes including how to interpret songs. Zadora continues to sing her interpretations of songs at Piero’s on the Vegas Strip. You can see her next on Celebrity Wife Swap which airs Wednesdays at 10pm on ABC.
