NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski is the 2012 Spring Cup Series champion and Team Penske driver who’s currently sixth in the standings. This week he’s competing at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series from Kentucky Speedway (July 11, 7:30pm, NBCSP). Keselowski recently sat down with USA Today and was asked about his upbringing. As a teen he worked for his dad’s race team. When asked about autographs he got as a kid that were a big deal at the time, Keselowski said he never asked for one. “I just wasn’t into it. I’m an adult and I’m still not into it. I don’t get it.”
Now that he’s a star Keselowski does sign autographs. But he appreciates the no autograph policy at Penske. He also fondly remembers an appearance he made in Charlotte. It was a Q&A right before the drivers meeting where no one asked him to sign anything, they just asked him questions. He could relate to those people. “Because the people I really care to meet, I wouldn’t waste that time asking for their autograph; I’d want to talk to them.”
