Basketball Wives LA star Draya Michele recently revealed her new clothing line Fine Ass Girls on the show. She said Fine Ass Girls “kinda started as a hobby but I did not want it to be merchandise, so I decided to make it a real brand and it just happened to work.” Happened to work means she tells people what she likes to wear and they make it. No shade. She admits it. She isn’t a seamstress. She didn’t go to fashion school, and she has someone finish her sketches.

Is Fine Ass Girls really working? Or is it a big fashion faux pas? There are only 20 items for sale on the website — a mixed bag including a $4 bandeau, $63 turtleneck, and a couple of bathing suits. One problem is Draya already sells bathing suits under her Mint Swim label. So why compete with yourself? Mint Swim is an awesome brand that gets major exposure when hot young things like Selena Gomez and Kylie Jenner post selfies of themselves in the skimpy suits and they go viral. Why muddy the water with a line of 20 t-shirts and turtlenecks? Basketball Wives LA airs Sundays at 8pm on VH1.
