In DeWitt, New York, a wealthy suburb of Syracuse, OBGYN Dr. Bob Neulander lived in a mansion with his wife Leslie Neulander and their 25-year-old daughter Jenna. One autumn morning, in 2012, in their 8,000 square foot house on Shalimar Way, Dr. Neulander said he found Leslie in the shower of their master suite bathroom unconscious. He said he tried to call for help using a phone in the bathroom but it had been disconnected. He then ran across the house to his daughter’s room – past numerous phones — to get Jenna to call for help.

The Onondaga County medical examiner said Leslie Neulander suffered an accidental slip and fall in the shower, but two of Leslie’s friends couldn’t believe that Leslie could slip and fall in that shower. One of those friends used to a medical examiner. When she called the District Attorney’s office to look into it, they asked if she wanted to look at it more carefully. She did. In April 2015, Dr. Robert Neulander was found guilty of murdering of his wife Leslie and attempting to cover the death up as an accident. He faces 25 years to life in prison. His daughter Jenna believes he is innocent. Dateline NBC will investigate the murder of Leslie Neulander on June 18 at 9pm on NBC.
